We have worked with Survivors Fund (SURF) for almost a decade, helping grow its web presence and expand its website too. Over time, the SURF website became a patchwork of different systems, some static, some dynamic.

Earlier this year, we approached SURF with the suggestion that we redesign the site and build it all on one system. That would give SURF a fresh look and feel, and an easier method for keeping the content updated and fresh.

Pleased with our previous work, SURF accepted our offer and entrusted us to create their new site. We chose to build the site with WordPress because SURF’s director, David Russell, was already familiar with the software. Moreover, WordPress is a powerful content management system that would more than meet SURF’s needs in maintain its website.

We crafted a vibrant, open design to highlight SURF’s work, taking advantage of its wonderful library of images and videos, many of which are supplied by Andrew Sutton.

When about the project, David Russell, of SURF, offered his reflections on the project:

It was a real pleasure working with the lbdesign team. The design and development of www.survivors-fund.org.uk was a true collaboration, with lbdesign realising perfectly our vision of a more dynamic website that we could manage. The work that they delivered is to the very highest standard.

The new SURF website is online at http://survivors-fund.org.uk.
